Fla.’s Housing Market: Sales, Median Prices Up in 1Q 2017
Florida’s housing market reported more closed sales, higher median prices and more pending sales during the first quarter of 2017, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors®. Closed sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 60,733 in 1Q 2017, up 5.1 percent over the 1Q 2016 figure.

Three Ninja Robbers Convicted in Central Florida Home Invasion
Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution today secured the conviction of three Immokalee men, also known as the ninja robbers, in connection to a home invasion robbery and an attempt at a second home invasion. After a two-week trial involving charges including home invasion robbery, kidnapping, carjacking with a firearm and armed burglary of a conveyance, an Orange County jury found Henry Contreras, 51, his son Johnathan Contreras, 30, and Andres Perez, 47, guilty of all charges.

Orlando median home price continues upward climb as sales and inventory dip
Orlando home sales declined 4 percent in April compared to April of 2016, in large part the result of sustained declines in the number of homes available for purchase. Orlando’s skimpy inventory also continued to push prices upwards, with the area’s year-over-year median home price again hitting a double-digit increase.
