TAVARES – (RealEstateRama) — Tony Lopresto, Lake County’s former Building Services Supervisor, has been named the county’s new Building Services Division Manager.
His role includes overseeing the technical, financial, and administrative functions of the Building Services Division under the Economic Growth Department. He is responsible for interpreting and making determinations on building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire code requirements and completing inspections and plan reviews of commercial, industrial, and residential projects in compliance with codes and standards.
“It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to announce the promotion of Tony Lopresto,” said Economic Growth Director Robert Chandler. “As a longtime Lake County resident and employee, Tony has extensive knowledge of not just the Florida Building Code, but also the unique challenges and opportunities impacting growth in Lake County. I’m confident in Tony’s leadership in working toward our goal of providing first-class, timely service to the residents of Lake County.”
Lopresto, who earlier this year celebrated 15 years of service with Lake County, said he enjoys helping people understand the building and permitting processes.
“It’s an honor to be promoted to manager of the Building Services Division, and I am privileged to serve with a wonderful team,” said Lopresto. “I look forward to our work ahead as the construction industry continues to rebound.”
In February, Gov. Rick Scott announced Lopresto’s appointment to the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board for a term through Oct. 31, 2020. He was also recently named the President of the Construction Licensing Officials Association of Florida, which provides a forum for licensing officials to meet and network regarding enforcement regulatory issues, solutions and best practices; provides education and certification for professional development and monitors current legislation and applicable and/or potential law changes.
