Publication Honored for Writing, Design Excellence

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 30, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — Florida Realtor, the Business Magazine of Florida Real Estate and monthly trade publication of Florida Realtors®, recently won 10 awards in the 2016 Florida Magazine Association’s (FMA) competition.

Under design excellence, Florida Realtor won two Charlie Awards, the competition’s top honor or gold standard, for Best Department Design (Market It) in the Trade/Technical category and also for Best Feature Design (My House is Smarter Than Your House – November/December 2015). It also won a Silver Award or second place for Best Special Theme (April 2016) and two Bronze Awards (third place): for Best Department Design (Upfront) and for Best Redesign.

Florida Realtor received Silver Awards for Best Overall Design, Best Overall Writing and Best Overall Magazine in the Trade/Technical category.

Judges also recognized the magazine for its writing. Florida Realtor won a Silver Award in Writing Excellence for Best Department (Market It) and a Silver Award for Best Service Feature (Your Business Has Value: How to Sell It – May 2015).

“Florida Realtor magazine is a partnership between our Realtor members and our talented communications team – that partnership is why it works so well for our members,” said Gia Arvin, chairman of Florida Realtors Communications Committee for 2016. “The magazine’s purpose is to provide Realtors with relevant, timely and valuable information they can use to improve their business. We are honored by these awards and proud that Florida Realtor magazine has achieved this recognition from the state publishing industry.”

The Florida Magazine Association, which represents the state’s publishing industry with more than 200 association, trade/technical and consumer magazines, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. More than 600 entries were submitted for this year’s Charlie Awards contest from publications produced in Florida. Awards were presented during FMA’s 2016 Publishing Conference & Expo, Sept. 23, at the Walt Disney World Swan in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
