TAMPA, FL – March 12, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Diana McClure, Business Resiliency Program Manager at the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), has been appointed to a national committee reviewing standards and best practices in business continuity management.
The Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) Standards and Professional Practices Committee (SPPC) is maintained by DRII in accordance with its status as an Accredited Standards Developer through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Ms. McClure was asked to participate in the SPPC because of her contributions in the area of small and mid-sized business preparedness and her extensive experience developing the IBHS Open for Business® program and promoting the use of its resources nationwide.
Ms. McClure also will add her expertise as the SPPC provides the needed coordination of those affected by the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency Voluntary Private Sector Accreditation and Certification Preparedness Program (PS-Prep). She recently made a presentation during a public hearing held by DHS and submitted formal written comments endorsing the establishment of PS-Prep in a manner that encourages uncomplicated and affordable participation by small businesses.
The DRII, an international non-profit organization, provides business continuity planning education and certification, and has certified more than 5,000 individuals engaged in the practice of business continuity planning and management. The DRII is committed to the development and maintenance of standards and professional practices underlying the planning, preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery activities of its stakeholder community.
