Lake County Solid Waste is encouraging Lake County residents to dispose of toxic materials in a safe and environmentally sensitive way at two household hazardous waste collection events. The county’s mobile unit will be on site from 9 a.m. – noon on the following dates and locations
Owner of Tharpe Street Business Complex Arrested for Arson and Insurance Fraud
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jeff Atwater today announced that arson investigators have arrested Victor Herrera, owner of the Tharpe Street business complex, on charges of arson and insurance fraud after an extensive investigation uncovered that he intentionally set his property on fire in order to collect insurance money. The business complex, located at 1109 Tharpe Street in Tallahassee, includes Debo's Stereo Installations and Super Clean Auto Detailing & Mobile Services

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution today secured the conviction of three Immokalee men, also known as the ninja robbers, in connection to a home invasion robbery and an attempt at a second home invasion. Orlando median home price continues upward climb as sales and inventory dip
Orlando home sales declined 4 percent in April compared to April of 2016, in large part the result of sustained declines in the number of homes available for purchase. Lake County issues countywide burn ban
The Lake County Public Safety Department has issued a countywide burn ban due to extremely dry weather conditions increasing the probability of wildfires. In accordance with County Code 10.5-75, the ban prohibits all outdoor burning that has not been specifically permitted by the Florida Division of Forestry. This includes burning yard waste or building recreational fires.
