U.S. Rep. Castor announces $2.5M Job-Plus grant for Tampa Housing Authority

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor announced that the Tampa Housing Authority and local partners received a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant for $2.5 million to connect residents to education, training and jobs as part of the Jobs-Plus Initiative. The Tampa Housing Authority is one of only six recipients of the grant nationwide and the only Florida recipient. The Tampa Housing Authority will provide training in technical skills that is so important for landing a job.

2015 Unclaimed Property Auction Raises $1.5 Million for Public Education

Adjusted building impact fee for education goes into effect April 6

Beginning April 6, the new adjusted educational impact fees will be $2,537 for a mobile home, $4,636 for a multi-family dwelling, and $7,719 for a single-family home. Educational impact fees are imposed by local governments and paid by developers to address the increase in school facility infrastructure demands created by new development.
