Florida Realtor Magazine Wins Top Awards Publication Honored for Writing, Design Excellence

ORLANDO, FL – September 14, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Florida Realtor, the Business Magazine of Florida Real Estate and monthly trade publication of Florida Realtors®, recently won six awards in the 2009 Florida Magazine Association’s (FMA) Charlie Awards competition.

Thisyear, Florida Realtor once again won a Charlie Award, the competition’s top honor or gold standard, for Best Overall Magazine in the Trade/Technical category. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Florida Realtor has captured the Charlie Award for Best Overall Magazine in its category. The magazine also won a Bronze Award for Best Redesign (all categories).

Under writing excellence, in its Trade/Technical category, the magazine won a Charlie Award for Best Written Magazine. The magazine also received a Silver Award for Best Department for “Technology & You” in the Trade/Technical category.

Under design excellence, Florida Realtor received two Bronze Awards in its Trade/Technical category: one for Best Overall Design; and one for Best Cover – for the October 2008 issue and also the March 2009 issue.

“Every month, Florida Realtor magazine offers valuable information that Florida Realtors can use to serve their clients better, boost their business and be more successful,” says Susanna Madden, 2009 chairman of the Florida Association of Realtors®’ Communications Committee and a Tampa Realtor. “That’s the mission of the magazine. But we are definitely very proud of our Florida Realtor magazine and appreciate that it has been recognized for its excellence in writing, design and overall achievement. Our magazine is definitely a partnership: It works so well because of the input of our Realtor members.”

The Florida Magazine Association is the professional organization for the state’s publishing industry and represents more than 220 magazines in Florida. A total of 675 entries were submitted for this year’s Charlie Awards contest from publications produced in Florida. Awards were presented during FMA’s 2009 Publishing Conference & Expo, Aug. 6-7, at the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando.
