Washington, DC - December 17, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-Miramar) sent the following letter to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Deputy Director for Management Jeffrey Zients, urging him to maintain funding for homelessness programs as he considers discretionary spending cuts for the remainder of the Fiscal Year, and plans for the President's budget for Fiscal Year 2014. Lewis Homeless Resource Center in West Palm Beach, Florida on Monday, August 20th at 2:00 p.m. Hastings serves as the Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Congressional Caucus on Homelessness.

Washington, DC - September 23, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-Miramar) introduced the Support for Ending Long-Term Homelessness Act of 2009. This bill will establish a grant program to provide permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals and families that have needs not addressed by traditional affordable housing. The companion bill has been introduced in the Senate by Senator Richard Burr (R-NC). (Please find attached a copy of the bill.)
