The Transition House opened in Central Florida in 1993 and now helps homeless veterans transition back into society. The VA has partnered with the organization in an effort to combat the growing number of homeless veterans living in Central Florida.
Grayson said he was pleased to see the Transition House, which has been assisting Central Florida’s homeless population for two decades, earn more funding for its work. “The Transition House is an invaluable asset in our community,” Grayson said. “I’m thrilled that the Transition House has received this funding, which will allow the organization to continue its outreach and services to homeless veterans in Central Florida.”
Grayson has made it a priority to increase the grants awarded to agencies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations in his district. He has established a federal grants notification system, which provides constituents with information about new grant opportunities under federal agencies. Grayson also hired a full-time grants coordinator in his Orlando office, who helps constituents identify available grants and navigate the federal grants process.
