Realtors Organization Now Thwarts Hackers at Their Point of Entry; Court Reduces Network-Server Backup Times by Over 80%

GREENBELT, Md., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ — Presidio Networked Solutions, the nation’s largest independent Value Added Solution Provider (VASP), today announced that it has completed major networking infrastructure projects for The Florida Association of Realtors and the Lee County Florida Clerk of Court’s Office.

For The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), Presidio developed a system to prevent “screen scraping,” an attack on an organization’s website by which a computer program culls information for unauthorized purposes. Presidio installed two firewalls for FAR, developed integral Intrusion Protection Systems to run on those firewalls, and linked the firewalls to FAR’s existing Mitigation Analysis and Response system (MARS) consisting of scalable Cisco Systems appliances for threat management, monitoring, and mitigation. Through Presidio’s quick response, FAR prevented over 150 attacks on its website within the first two weeks of operation.

For the Lee County Florida Clerk of Court's Office, Presidio joined forces with Network Appliance (NetApp) in developing the scope of work, deployment and integration of a new NetApp system to reduce backup times for the county's network servers. Presidio’s role was to guide the clerk’s office through an evaluation of what the office called “numerous products and consultants” for a workable remedy to server backup times that were, at that point, requiring six days.

Thompson added that, with Presidio’s support, backups now require less than 24 hours — representing an approximate 80% reduction in backup times through the use of NetApp's Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP).
