Pinellas County Short Sale Realtor Wendy Smith Promotes Adoption of Pets from Local Animal Services
Crystal Beach, FL – March 14, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Every 3rd Saturday of the month, the Pinellas County Animal Services open the doors to its adoption center in hopes of finding suitable homes to the large number of dogs and cats they have in their care.
Animal services staff encourages interested adopters to first take a tour of the adoption center in order to fully understand the lives that these stray animals have so far led and how their needs could then be more effectively led. Once an applicant has found the ideal pet to adopt, he or she is to submit its history card to any employee or volunteer manning the reception area and completely fill out the adoption application form.
There are times when an application is rejected. Pinellas County short sale realtor Wendy Smith advises interested applicants to prepare their home in advance to reduce chances of having their applications turned down. Although the county’s Animal Services doesn’t base their decision on factors such as gender or race, they do take the time to evaluate your lifestyle and conditions in your home to determine if you have the means and environment necessary in securing a safe, happy, and healthy life for your future pet. Application forms and all other documents processed during the period are to become public property and would remain in possession of the department.
Payments of adoption fees may be made in cash or charged to the applicant’s credit card. Fees are to cover the costs of gaining a county pet license, a 5 lb. Hill Science Diet bag, and the expenses incurred for medical examinations and procedures as well as vaccinations for the pet. Adopting a pet will also guarantee the applicant with free training provided by the center.
Applicants are reminded that the adoption center’s website does not currently contain all the animals in its charge. Applicants should not expect animals to bear an exact likeness to their photographs. All animals are also offered at a first come first serve basis.
Other events hosted by the Animal Services include last February’s Feline Spay Month and the upcoming National Pet Week in May.
