Pinellas County Short Sale Realtor Wendy Smith Encourages Parents to Attend Free College Financial Aid Sessions

-

Crystal Beach, FL – March 8, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Various financial experts are slated to participate in the series of discussions, which would be held in schools such as Gibbs and Clearwater High. The last of these discussions would be held on March 20 at Northeast High.

Students and parents who are interested in participating in the discussion are encouraged to bring the following: a Federal Student Aid PIN – which is available for download at pin.ed.gov. – their federal income tax and W-2 forms, workers’ or disability compensation, and valid IDs to provide proof of their Social Security numbers and birth dates. Other documents providing legal proof of untaxed income as well as other photo IDs should also be available for referencing.

Food and refreshments will also be served. For those attending the session on Tuesday, the menu available include a selection of romaine salad, deli roasted potatoes, vegetarian chili, corn dog, and meatball sub. Different types of juice and fruit as well as dessert would also be offered.

Pinellas County short sale Realtor Wendy Smith believes that these sessions could help parents find out essential information about other opportunities or options they may not have previously explored for their children’s educations. There are basically three types of federal student aid available from the government: grants, work-study programs, and loans.

Grants are a form of financial aid which does not require repayment of any type unless, of course, a student withdraws from school and is thus required to pay a refund. With work-study programs, students are given a chance to earn payment for their education while federal student loans work mostly like regular loans do and thus require repayment with interest.

At present, there are 6 types of federal student grants available for one’s use: the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, the Academic Competitiveness Grant, the National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National SMART Grant), the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants, and the TEACH Grant for aspiring teachers.

Northeast High is located 5500 16th Street N, St. Petersburg and with the session starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. Those with inquiries may call (727) 302-6802. Pinellas County short sale Realtor Wendy Smith is a firm believer in the power of education, and hopes that locals and interested homebuyers in the area would take the time to participate in the event.
