WASHINGTON, DC – August 7, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — On July 15, The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the award of the HUD – VASH housing voucher allocations nationwide.
HUD – VASH is a Supported Housing Program with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provides permanent housing and ongoing case management treatment services for homeless Veterans who would not be able to live independently without the support of case management.
This is the second year that Congress budgeted $75 million for this rental assistance program to enable homeless veterans to secure permanent housing.
Florida received a total of 910 vouchers, allocated to 14 public housing authorities. In 2008, Florida received 565 rental assistance vouchers under the HUD -VASH program.
