HOLLY HILL, Fla. – April 20, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Insurance Fraud on Thursday arrested three subjects on charges related to personal injury protection (PIP) fraud.
Shortly after being taken into custody, one subject suffered a medical emergency unrelated to the arrest. Agency staff contacted medical help immediately and the subject was transported to an area hospital. Regrettably, the individual has since passed away.
The Department has asked the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an independent review of the circumstances surrounding the event.
