CFO Jeff Atwater is offering assistance to area residents as they navigate the insurance claims process.

During this time, it is important for policyholders to understand their rights during the claims process. Residents are encouraged to download a copy of the homeowner claims bill of rights, which outlines in plain language what is expected of an insurance carrier once a claim is filed.
The Department’s Insurance Consumer Helpline experts are available to answer questions about what may or may not be covered under a consumer’s home or auto policy. They can also connect consumers with the appropriate contact information for their carrier and help to mediate any issues that may arise when communicating with their carrier.
