ADVISORY: Buchanan to Help Community Prepare For Irma

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — As Hurricane Irma barrels toward Florida, Congressman Vern Buchanan will make the following stops in his district Friday to monitor preparations and make sure his communities have the resources they need.

Buchanan will be in the following locations:

  • 11:00 AM: Buchanan will help Holmes Beach residents fill sandbags at the Holmes Beach Police Dept. 5801 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach.
  • 1:00 PM: Buchanan will help Bradenton residents fill sandbags at Stormwater Ops. 5511 39th Street East, Bradenton.
  • 3:30 PM: Buchanan will participate in a media briefing at the Manatee Emergency Operations Center. 2101 47th Terrace East, Bradenton.
  • 4:30 PM: Buchanan will visit the emergency shelter at Nolan Elementary School. 6615 Greenbrook Blvd, Bradenton.

Buchanan received an update today from FEMA Administrator Brock Long and other emergency management agencies about the status of federal preparations for Hurricane Irma. Buchanan left Washington Thursday evening to return to his district.
