Screen on the Green Returns to Water Works Park Saturdays in October

The nights have cooled down so it’s time to head to the park to enjoy movies under the stars. Screen on the Green Presented by Verizon returns to Water Works Park beginning on Saturday, Oct. 3 for a series of family-friendly movies. The free movies range from the cult classic “Ghostbusters” to the new favorite “Hotel Transylvania.” The movies have been chosen to appeal to both children and adults.

Lake County residents welcome to drop off household hazardous waste in Lady Lake

The Lake County Solid Waste Division is encouraging county residents to dispose of toxic materials in a safe and environmentally sensitive way at an upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection event. The County’s Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Unit will be on site from 9 a.m. – noon on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Lady Lake Convenience Center, located at 1200 Jackson St., in Lady Lake. The collection event is open to Lake County residents only.

With the release of market statistics for August, economists noticed a surprising indicator year-over-year. First, there were the predictable trends: median sale price climbed 9.3 percent from $270,000 to $295,000; median days on market dropped 34.5 percent from 55 to 36 days; active listings decreased 7.9 percent from 7,187 to 6,622 listings; and months’ supply of inventory declined 21.6 percent from 5.6 to 4.4 months
