Washington, DC, January 16, 2017 – (RealEstateRama) — “Fifty Shades of Gray,” the master suite in a Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., single-family home, has been selected as the Room of the Year in the 2016 Best in American Living™ Awards (BALA) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
This modern master suite is a haven where elegance coexists with functionality. Its many shades and tones of gray evoke the calming beauty of serene nature and create a tranquil, zen-like setting in which to relax and sleep.
Working with a room featuring high ceilings and large windows, the designer defined distinct areas for sleeping and seating. A recessed cove ceiling detail and custom accent bed wall in warm gray wood tones with antiqued mirrors set off the sleeping area. A rich upholstered wall panel using varied textures adds warmth and interest.
Porcelain wood flooring in the bedroom and white glass-tiled flooring in the master bathroom sustain the tonal palette. Entering the master bathroom through double doors, the bathtub and feature art wall provide a focal point amid the his-and-hers pair of toilets, vanities and closets.
BALA judges also noted the convenient breakfast bar that enhances the luxurious morning environment established in the master suite.
The suite was designed by Franky & Associates Architect Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla., and interior designer Wetherlys Interiors of Jupiter, Fla. It was built and developed by Couture Lifestyle Homes of Jupiter, Fla.
In its 33rd year, BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential industry, including single-family production, custom, rental, affordable, interiors, remodeling, community and international. Award winners were announced at the annual NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla.
