Woman Accused in Florida Not a Realtor

Washington, DC – July 16, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The following is a statement by the National Association of Realtors®:

Many news outlets are erroneously reporting that Pamela Long Wiggins, charged today for murder in Florida, is a Realtor®.

The National Association of Realtors® can confirm that she is not a Realtor®, which is a protected trademark of the National Association of Realtors®, and is not synonymous with “real estate agent.”

It is unknown whether Wiggins holds a Florida real estate license.

The National Association of Realtors®, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1.2 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
