Three Ninja Robbers Convicted in Central Florida Home Invasion

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – (RealEstateRama) — Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution today secured the conviction of three Immokalee men, also known as the ninja robbers, in connection to a home invasion robbery and an attempt at a second home invasion. After a two-week trial involving charges including home invasion robbery, kidnapping, carjacking with a firearm and armed burglary of a conveyance, an Orange County jury found Henry Contreras, 51, his son Johnathan Contreras, 30, and Andres Perez, 47, guilty of all charges.

On April 30, 2014, the three defendants participated in the break in of a Windermere mansion, where the defendants robbed and zip-tied the residents and stole the victims’ car. A home surveillance system captured portions of the robbery, providing evidence for the prosecution. On May 12, 2014, authorities caught Johnathan Contreras and Perez cutting a whole in a fence that bordered another large residence. Authorities then arrested the defendants before they could invade an additional home. Two days later, law enforcement arrested Henry Contreras as the getaway driver.

Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Robert Finkbeiner and Assistant Statewide Prosecutor John Roman with Attorney General Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution prosecuted this case. The sentencing date is set for July 31, 2017.

The defendants face separate charges in connection to a string of home invasions in Collier County. Attorney General Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is also prosecuting this case.
