REALTOR® finalists revealed for 2015 ORRA Good Neighbor Awards

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 8, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — REALTORS® don’t just help people realize their dreams of homeownership, they also help build communities. Ten of those community-building REALTORS® have been honored for their efforts and named finalists for the 2015 Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association Good Neighbor Awards.

All ORRA members will be voting for five finalists to each receive a $1,000 donation from ORRA to their charity. The remaining five finalists will each receive a $500 donation from ORRA to their charity.

2015 ORRA Good Neighbor Award Finalists

Roberto “Bobby” Baldor
RE/MAX Properties SW Inc.

Bobby is a volunteer for the Dr. Phillips YMCA, where he serves on the organization’s board of directors and is a Leader’s Council Level major donor.

James Batenchuk
Charles Rutenberg Realty

James is a fundraising volunteer for the Shriners Hospitals For Children – Tampa and focuses his efforts on the Sam Swope Memorial Charity Ride. He also coordinates a holiday time toy drive for the local Shriners organization.

Charles serves on the board of directors of the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, Inc., which funded the construction and maintenance of a living memorial in recognition of Central Floridians who died in service.

Donna Cox
Real Estate Firm of Orlando

Donna raises money for at-risk students to participate in Eastside Baptist Student Ministry mission trips, and to experience the sense of purpose and rewards of serving others that result from a mission-trip experience.

Cynthia Egeli
Keller Williams Winter Park

Cynthia serves as a “Volunteer for Children” for the Orange County Volunteer Advocates For Children program, which trains individuals to advocate on behalf of a child who has been removed from their home and placed into the foster care system.

Henry “Hank” Lopez
Tuscawilla Realty, Inc

Hank volunteers with the student-run Green H.O.P.E. and donates a portion of every home sale to the organization, which helps students participate in local fundraising efforts to benefit those with autism, cancer, or atlanto-occipital dislocation.

Gislene “Gigi” Moorman
Parker Realty Group

Through a non-profit group that she co-founded, Gislene prepares and delivers baskets filled with toiletries, laundry items, and $10 in quarters to residents of the Women’s Residential & Counseling Center, a transitional housing facility for victims of abuse.

Wendell Philp
La Rosa Realty, LLC

Wendell is the founder of and an ongoing volunteer for Housing 4 All, an organization that bridges homeless veterans, families, and individuals into supportive/affordable housing on their way to permanent homeownership.

Theodora Uniken Venema
Downtown Brokers LLC

Theodora volunteers with Kids Beating Cancer and assisted with the practice and production of CD entitled “The Sound of 30 Kids Beating Cancer.”

James Weinberg
Park Place Realty Associates

Jim provides year-round support to the Base Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., an organization that provides services to all the children in Central Florida battling cancer, as chairman of its board of directors and as chair of fundraising events.
