Lake County exploring options for land acquisition

-

TAVARES, FL – August 17, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Lake County continues to explore land options for the acquisition of property that could subsequently be used for future County projects.

With discussions of acquiring land still in the preliminary stages, the County is interested in hearing from property owners whose land meets specific criteria. Property owners must contact the County no later than Oct. 1 for their land to be considered.

The area of interest is mainly concentrated in the central portion of Lake County, and stretches from the western to eastern County line, as far north as Tavares and as far south as Groveland. The property must be uplands, consist of 80-200 usable acres and be suitable for rezoning to PFD (Public Facilities). Additionally, there must be legal access to the property and it cannot be divided by a bridge, highway or other structure.

Furthermore, other conditions include:
• The price must be negotiable
• Lake County pays no real estate commission
• Lake County pays no closing costs
• Any restrictions on the property and/or title must be disclosed
