Housing & Rehab Funds to Charlotte County

March 06, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Charlotte County is in the process of preparing for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, which will bring approximately $6.7 million to the County for use in getting foreclosed homes back on the market. A basic fact sheet about the program is attached. At this time, the process for awarding contracts through NSP is unknown, but will likely be done through the County’s Purchasing Department. Anyone interested should contact them to make sure they are on the list of vendors.

There will be several opportunities for public comment. The County encourages participation by all interested parties.

Timeline for Charlotte County:
March 10, 2009 – Public Hearing before the Board of County Commissioners

March 12, 2009 – Affordable Housing Brown Bag Lunch to discuss NSP Plan 12:00 – 1:30 pm, 1476 Kennesaw St., Port Charlotte

March 18, 2009 – Citizens Advisory Task Force/AHAC sub-committee review of plan 10:00 am, Mid-County Regional Library, Meeting Rooms A & B

March 24, 2009 – Final public hearing/Application to Board of County Commissioners for approval
