House Speaker Will Weatherford Appoints Former State Representative Gary Aubuchon to Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board

Former legislator and House Rules Chair, known for his integrity and professionalism, to serve on the board

Tallahassee, FL – August 5, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford (R-Wesley Chapel) today appointed former State Representative Gary Aubuchon to the Board of Governors for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. Aubuchon’s appointment is effective today.

“Gary has a distinguished record of public service and has worked to solve many important challenges to our state,” said Speaker Weatherford. “He is an outstanding servant leader and has many years of private sector business experience in the building and real estate industries, making him eminently qualified for this position. I believe he will inject the kind of perspective that will build public confidence in the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.”

Gary Aubuchon is President of the Aubuchon Team of Companies and served as state representative for District 74 in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2012. As a state representative, Aubuchon was known for his integrity, earning him the position of House Rules Chair under House Speaker Dean Cannon. In 2010, Representative Aubuchon led workgroups established in response to the Deepwater Horizon spill. Additionally, Aubuchon is the past recipient of the Cape Coral’s Citizen of the Year and Lee County’s Humanitarian of the Year awards.

Representative Aubuchon earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and he and his wife, Andrea, currently reside in Cape Coral. He has three children: Julia, Jennifer and Madison.
