Miami, FL – February 26, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-24) and the U.S. Department of Treasury are hosting a “Help For Homeowners” event on Wednesday, February 27 and Thursday, February 28 to enable struggling homeowners to meet one-on-one with mortgage company officials and housing experts to receive free advice and assistance.

homeowners, including residents who have lost their jobs or taken pay cuts, and to
answer questions about principal reduction, refinancing, loan modification, short
sales and other ways of avoiding foreclosure.

Congresswoman Wilson has been a champion for the cause of stopping home evictions in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. In addition to a successful Foreclosure Prevention Workshop in Miami Gardens last October, she sponsored the Mandatory Foreclosure Mediation Act to bring banks and homeowners together to find alternatives to eviction.
