Attorney General Bondi’s Statement on the National Mortgage Settlement Monitor’s Report

-

TALLAHASSEE, FL – June 19, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Attorney General Pam Bondi released the following statement on the National Mortgage Settlement Monitor’s Report concerning the Monitor’s review of the banks’ compliance with the settlement’s servicing standards.

“It’s clear that the banks still have a long way to go to live up to the commitments they made when they entered this settlement. Together with the national settlement monitor, I will continue to advocate for struggling homeowners and ensure that they promptly get whatever relief they’re entitled to under the settlement. As today’s report shows, we’ve made progress since the settlement went into effect, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Ultimately, if the banks do not comply, we will not hesitate to take further legal action.”
