Lake County Building Services offers workshop on swimming pool construction

TAVARES – January 28, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Lake County’s Building Services Division is hosting the “Swimming Pools and the Florida Building Code” workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 8:30 a.m. at the Lake County Extension Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.

The course will provide attendees with an understanding of many of the Florida Building Code requirements for the design, plan review and inspection of residential swimming pools and spas. Topics that will be presented include structure, electrical, circulatory and sanitation systems, pool and spa heaters, energy code compliance, and required safety features. The free event will be presented by the Building Officials Association of Florida, featuring instructor John O’Connor, a general contractor for 25 years and former building official for various local counties and municipalities.

Completion of the workshop includes two continuing education credits for contractors, building inspectors and plans examiners.
