Annual Event to Focus on Building Sustainable and Diverse Communities
WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 17, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — April is Fair Housing Month, and to commemorate the 1968 passage of the federal Fair Housing Act—which prohibits discrimination in housing—civil rights, nonprofit and government agencies, will come together to sponsor the Florida Fair Housing Summit in Orlando on Friday, April 24, 2015. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott, 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando 32821.
Government administrators, housing providers, property managers, attorneys, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, and fair housing advocates from across the state will come together to experience a conference intended to educate, engage and motivate. This year’s theme is “One Community for All: Building Sustainable and Diverse Communities.”
The one-day Summit will offer 15 workshops and numerous exhibits, and features two innovative keynote speakers: James Perry, National Fair and Affordable Housing leader and advocate, and Sara Pratt, Assistant Secretary for Programs and Enforcement at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Pending approval, continuing education credits will be offered to attorneys, mediators and Realtors for their participation in the conference.
