Tampa Realtor Is FAR’s 2008 Realtor Associate of the Year

ORLANDO, FL - October 08, 2008 - (RealEstateRama) — Tampa Realtor® Susanna Madden has been named Florida’s 2008 Associate Realtor of the Year by the 125,000-member Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR). The award was presented at FAR’s recent 92nd annual Convention & Trade Expo in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

FAR has presented an Associate Realtor of the Year award for 50 years. Winners are honored for their great individual lifetime contributions to their local board, community, FAR and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Madden is a member of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors. At the local level, she has not only been president of her local association, but has been named Realtor of the Year six times for her secondary board and once for her primary board, the Greater Tampa association.

On the state level, Madden served as 2006 president of the Florida chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR), which awarded her the Rising Star, Extra Effort and Mentor of the Year honors. She has been a committee chair and director for the Florida chapter of Certified Residential Specialists. Madden has served on numerous FAR committees, and is currently vice-chair for the Communications Committee. She was District 6 vice-president in 2007. On the national level, she has been an NAR director and served on the NAR Business Issues, Education and Professional Standards committees.

Madden belongs to a number of community organizations and volunteers for many worthy causes, including Children’s Miracles Network, Easter Seals, Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts and the Humane Society. Here’s another example: Two years ago, she was asked to be the auctioneer at the local Cattle Barons’ Ball with the proceeds to be donated to ROCK Camp (Reaching Out To Cancer Kids). She was given a goal of raising $5,000 to fight children’s cancer; but in 15 minutes, Madden raised $37,000. The next year, she raised $58,000; this year, in 30 minutes, she raised a record $106,000.

For her contributions to the real estate profession and the community, Susanna Madden has been honored with one of FAR’s top awards.
